GBRCTA prides itself on the welcoming environment we create for all those who are interested in joining our tennis family. We offer a number of programs for new players to learn the sport in a fun, safe, no-pressure atmosphere. We recommend the following programs to start your tennis journey. If you have not played tennis before, the Baton Rouge area has a community of beginner tennis players for you!
Tennis Apprentice/Step Up League
GBRCTA’s Tennis Apprentice / Step Up League is designed for adult beginner players. This is a fun and engaging way to learn tennis and you’ll get a free racquet! GBRCTA is planning to have at least 4 Tennis Apprentice/Step Up League events this year.
Our first GBRCTA Tennis Apprentice / Step Up League will start in Mid March 2025. There will be an additional Tennis Apprentice starting in Mid May and another in August .
There will be four weeks of lessons and two weeks of Step Up League. Each session will be 90 minutes. The fee for all community members is $75/person. This cost includes both instruction and a new racquet.
Don’t worry if these dates are not good for you. This is our most popular program for Adult beginners and Baton Rouge has many incredible Tennis Professionals waiting to teach you. Please check back for information on our next Tennis Apprentice.
