GBRCTA Beginner Clinic & Round Robin - City Tour

We love tennis players new and experienced.  Please join us on Sunday afternoons for a beginner clinic taught by a tennis professional, followed by round robin match play. We do our best to match players by skill/level for an enjoyable time. REGISTER TODAY due to limited space.

Tennis Apprentice - COME LEARN THE GAME OF TENNIS

Lessons will be held at the Bocage Racquet Club (7600 Jefferson Hwy) and cost includes a racket, USTA Membership, (4) Thursday night lessons from March 14 - April 4, 2019, from 7-8:30 PM, and player party with food and prizes. Cost is $70.00. No equipment necessary.

Lessons will be held at the Paula G. Manship YMCA Lamar Tennis Center (8100 YMCA Plaza Dr) and cost includes a racket, USTA Membership, (4) Tuesday night lessons from April 2 - 23, 2019, from 7-8:30 PM, and player party with food and prizes. Cost is $70.00. No equipment necessary.

USTA Adult League Tennis

USTA League is organized, competitive team play for women and men of all abilities and experience. Teams and matches are set up according to NTRP ratings, so your teammates and opponents will be at your skill level. The competition is exciting, but the atmosphere is social.

Format: Teams consist of a minimum of five to eight players, depending on division/level. Team matches consist of both singles and doubles, except 55 & Over, which consists of doubles only.

USTA Mixed Doubles League

USTA Mixed Doubles is similar to USTA League Tennis in that it offers competitive team play for all abilities and experience, except that women and men play together.

Format: Team matches consist of three courts of doubles. Teams and matches are set up according to “Combined NTRP Rating” of the partners.

Tri-Level League

If you want to play with friends at different NTRP levels, or if you are having a hard time getting enough people of the same level to form a team, Tri-Level is for you. This socially competitive league is a great way to enjoy the camaraderie of friends in the ultimate team experience.

Format: Play doubles with your friends while on a team that consists of three NTRP levels. Example: One 3.0 doubles, one 3.5 doubles and one 4.0 doubles = Tri-Level team.

Southern Combo Doubles League

Southern Combo Doubles is team play that allows players to combine at different levels and compete. It is great fun to play on the same court with friends who are at different NTRP levels.

Format: Three courts of doubles are played for each team match at the combined NTRP levels.

GBRCTA City Championship League

“Play for a Purpose” in this exciting Fall league. Part of your entry fees help sponsor the Cajun Classic Wheelchair Tennis Tournament that attracts top professional and amateur wheelchair tennis players from all over the world.

GBRCTA City Championship League is identical to USTA League, which is played in the Spring. Teams and matches are set up according to NTRP ratings, so your teammates and opponents will be at your skill level. The competition is exciting, and GBRCTA prizes are awarded to the league’s winners at each level.

Format: Teams consist of a minimum of five to eight players, depending on division/level. Team matches consist of both singles and doubles, except 55 & Over, which consists of doubles only.

Baton Rouge Women's Tennis Association

The Baton Rouge Women’s Tennis Association (BRWTA) hosts a Doubles Fun Tournament, a tennis round robin (3 sets minimum), On the second Monday morning of each month. Play is followed by a buffet style luncheon. Levels of play are 2.5 through 4.0 with separate divisions of play for women over 50 and 65 years of age. Prizes are awarded at the luncheon for 1st and 2nd place in each division, and door prizes are awarded to ten lucky luncheon attendees.

Like playing singles? BRWTA also offers a Singles Fun Tournament on the first Thursday of each month where members play three sets of tennis round robin style. Like the doubles tournament, prizes are awarded for 1st and 2nd place in each division and lunch is included in your registration fee. Levels of play range from 2.5 through 4.0.

Round-Robin @ Highland Road Park

No reservations required! Highland Park Tennis Association has conducted a round robin for nearly 40 years, and everyone is welcome, regardless of skill level. Just bring your racquet and show up anytime between 8 a.m. and noon. For a nominal fee, HPTA provides the courts, tennis balls, snacks and an average of 75 tennis players every Saturday. Membership is not required and guests are always welcome, but members do enjoy discounts and other perks.

Ladies round robins every Tuesday morning 9 am. 
Round robin for everyone on Thursdays at 8:30 a.m.

 Junior Tennis in Baton Rouge

Junior Team Tennis

USTA Jr. Team Tennis play allows children ages 6-18 to engage in a fun, healthful sport within a team environment. USTA Jr. Team Tennis also adapts to your child’s age and play level by offering children aged 10 and under an opportunity to learn by using a new format called Quick Start Tennis. And as they grow older, play levels can increase all the way to a National Championship level.
