Community Cup Rules and Regulations
Mission Statement
The Community Cup has been a valuable service provided by the Greater Baton Rouge Community Tennis Association (GBRCTA) for years. It is the continuing obligation and responsibility of the GBRCTA to maintain it for all tennis players in the Greater Baton Rouge area. It is the stated goal of the GBRCTA to support the development and continued growth of organized amateur tennis tournaments throughout our area at all public and private facilities which are open to play to the public. The 2008 Baton Rouge Community Cup is designed to reward all players who enter tennis tournaments throughout Baton Rouge, regardless of location, age, or format.
Level of Play
All Community Cup tournaments must adhere to the NTRP ratings. Any tournament who allows a player to play below his or her NTRP level will be removed from the Community Cup program.
Tournament Reporting
Each tournament must report and prove the results to the Community Cup Coordinator no more than15 days beyond the last day of tournament play. Reporting must include the following:
1)Tournament Brackets
2)List of Teams
3)Members of each team
4)NTRP level of each team
5)Players and result of each match played
6)Points awarded to each player using the spreadsheet below.
7)Email Address for each player

Tournaments that fail to supply results of matches to the GBRCTA will be removed from the Community Cup program.
Awards
-
Community Cup trophy for the winner of each division.

$100 Gift Certificate to Academy Sports OR Mall of Louisiana for the winner of each division.

$75 Gift Certificate to Academy Sports OR Mall of Louisiana for the runner-up of each division.

Each division must have at least 10 competitors for the year to be considered a qualifying division.
Receiving Points for Tournaments
-
Points are received at the player’s NTRP level, regardless if they play “up”.

10 points for entering a tournament.
-
10 points for any win not a winners bracket semi-final.
-
30 points for a semi-final bracket win.
-
60 points for final bracket win.

Round Robin Formats
A player must play the match in order to receive points, even if the player is on the team.
Tournament Disqualifiers
1)Allows a player to play below his or her NTRP level.
2)Fails to supply results of all matches.
3)Does not finish all levels of play.
4)Voluntarily removed from the Community Cup program.
Additional Rules

A tournament can be added to the Community Cup program at any time.

Only one tournament can be a Community Cup tournament on a specified date, unless the original scheduled tournament gives permission to the Community Cup coordinator.

Every player must have a current NTRP Rating

The GBRCTA Community Cup Committee will be responsible for monitoring and updating to Sue-Anne Stuntz the standings of this year’s event who will place the updated files on the GBRCTA web page.
